The east side would be a terrible place to move if you are looking for a job thats not in the tech industry. Housing prices are sky high. The traffic on commutes from the north or south sucks too. Shoreline isn't a bad suggestion if you are looking for work in the city. Don't move to Tacoma, the traffic from there to Seattle or the east side is awful, and there aren't many jobs there right now.
