The South Sucks....a story (little e30 content, lots of bmw content, tons of OT)

if you just want the bmw stuff scroll down, but heres how i spent my last week.

friday night i found out my mom couldnt go down to south carolina to help my sister move into college...which meant i had to go with my dad. fall asleep around 2am, wake up at 4 am, and we were off. a 16 hour drive from northern CT, to clemson, south carolina. now this was really gonna suck, 16 hours down, stay that saturday, drive back earky sunday. but then i realized something....BMW America is located 20 miles form the campus :p

so all goes well, i take turns driving driving every couple hours, then sleep when its my dads turn to drive, all the while experiencing the almost south. first off the south has awesome fast food, waffle house, bojangles, chik-fil-a, hardees, etc...its just not in the north. not to mention mello yellow..i stocked up on the crap big time.

    the tapan zee:

ny citys out there in the fog...

fredericksburg maryland...they have a gas station called "sheetz" :o

west virginia...t storms rolling in....it never did hit us, but it was always behind us

    clemson

little caesars...one of the few memories i had of living and growing up in georgia

    mello yellow = :p

    an actual sonic!

me helping my sis move in, yes i wore my mpower shirt, and oil stained pants to bmw america

    michelin plant near bmw factory

that was all good...went down..long trip, visited bmw factory at night, got to hotel, woke up next morning and moved her in, then me and my dad went to a very closed spartanburg again for better pics (ill put the pics below of that, its story time right now though!!) and then slept again, then next morning we headed home early. all was good, i witnessed some of the coolest bmws, ate some good food, and now im heading home. so i started to sleep on our truck..until about 20 miles past the north carolina/virginia border. i woke up to "wahp wahp wahp wahp" sounded like the truck was firing on 2 cylinders. pulled over, pop the hood, and couldnt find what was wrong (ford expeditions engine is very crammed and has a huge cover on it) so we pulled off the next exit, in draper virginia, and to our luck theres a trucking company WITH mechanic whos working sunday. so cecil, a one toothed mechanic starts to look at our truck. he just yanks out a coil and he sends his wife to o'reillys to find a new one. we later find out that was NOT the problem, but a result of the real one. she comes back, cant order one til tuesday. so he calls a tow truck to come. so 3 hours later they show up, 2 guys in a 3 seater truck. so clem, and some mumbling dude put our truck up on the bed, then were off for a 30 mile trip to the ford dealer in christiansunburg, virginia. clem, me, my dad, other guy..sitting in the truck in that order. they start smoking and talking to each other. the conversation went like this "saw a buck in ma yard today" "kill it?" "nee, gun at work" (work..hes a tow truck driver ) "goin coon huntin lata?" "yas, gettin away from the misses" etc...all in southern drawl. well anyway. get there on a sunday, shops closed, so we stay at the econo lodge the night. so i had to kill 8 hours that day in a motel with only fast food and gas stations around..i just slept and watched repeat mythbusters

vending machine...with chili dogs and corn dogs

mr pibb, also not in the north

took a bus to a local mall in blacksburg...it has a college!

    spelt wrong lol

finally on monday we find what happened..a spark plug exploded, destroyed the threading, and took out the coil pack and some hoses

after a 6 hour repair we hit the road

    yummm

So where is the bad part about the south? I grew up in NH and lived there until I came here to Clemson for school 3 years ago. People down here are much nicer, girls are FAR better looking, food is far superior, roads are better, no snow, better looking girls, more BMW meets/enthusiasts, and did I mention better looking girls who aren't all snobs or stuck up bitches? Oh and btw, did you move your sister into Young dorm or Cope?

LOL at Sheetz. They are all over here, and can never agree on a price for a gal. of gas. One will have $3.55 and across town another one will have $3.59.

I see Pibb in restaurants up here but not too much in the stores. Looked like some fun, and that 318 looks kind of like your car!
