I dunno about you guys but I bought my e30 for 2k about a year ago, and it hasnt given me a problem at all. Granted I probably put about 100 bucks into oil changes and 150 into tires. The bitch fires up in all situations, when in the middle of a bad neighbor hood after a drug deal has gone sour I always trust my 22 yearold car to get me out. Hasn't failed me yet.
should I get an E30?

Im looking at this
I know it's a 1.8L and has no LSD, but the condition seems pretty good, also has AC and power windows which is very important for me. The price is a little high but I think I can get it down a little. One more problem I don't know how drive a MT :D
As you can see from the pics, there is some slight rust starting on the drivers lower panel and (which isnt in the pics) there is some bubbling on the passenger side around the mirror. Fog light glass is shattered on the drivers side and the drivers side rear tire is flat. The interior is super clean though, and IIRC there are no cracks in the dash. Overall the car is pretty clean but the people there rubbed me the wrong way.
I went to see it back in November, in dire need of a car. They wanted $4991 for it then. To make it short, I got nothing but short cold answers from the salesman that seemed completely disinterested in the car and me as a customer. Hell, I had $3k in cash in my pocket, was there with a friend that bought a high end Acura from that same dealership, and dealt with this guy before, and I was back in the car headed home within 5 minutes. I told them I may be back in the spring to look again when the price dropped because I was sure it would still be there.
Offer them $2475 tops, since state tax on the car will be 25 bucks, and see what happens. Also, be very sure to go over the car more now. I was back there during the horrible snow storms a few weeks ago. It was one of 3 cars in the entire lot with snow on it and they failed to close the trunk or roll one window all the way up. They obviously dont care much about it.Comment

be a man. get one.Hi guys, I've been thinking lately that I really want an E30, I love them so much since I was a kid. Right now I have a 95 Mazda 626 with 125k miles in a pretty good shape. I had no problems with it for the last 4 years. I think I could get 2k for it and get myself an E30. The problems is that E30's are pretty old cars and need some work to be reliable. I'm concerned that the E30 won't be so reliable as my current car and I NEED a reliable car that would also work when it's really cold outside. So anyways should I get one?My feedback:

Wow, thanks for the info man. It's sad to hear that sales people are like that these days when not so many people are buying cars.As you can see from the pics, there is some slight rust starting on the drivers lower panel and (which isnt in the pics) there is some bubbling on the passenger side around the mirror. Fog light glass is shattered on the drivers side and the drivers side rear tire is flat. The interior is super clean though, and IIRC there are no cracks in the dash. I emailed the dealership and they told me to bring in the Mazda for an estimate.Last edited by Tonka; 02-18-2009, 04:11 PM.Comment
