I've considered lots of things.
Mostly I've considered that heeter has very little practical experience regarding the economy. Basically he knows what he's read in books and what other people have told him.
If that's all it takes to a make one a expert, then I'm a world-class engine builder, helicopter pilot, and purveyor of Hobbitry.
Basically, I don't give a fuck what he thinks he knows, or where he got his "certificate". He's still just a punkass 23 year old kid. ;)

Your whole argument as to why you are right or why we should listen to you is based off of a flawed concept. That concept is that experience (e.g. age) makes you more knowledgeable about how a complex system works.I've considered lots of things.

Experience only goes so far because experience is nothing more than single data points taken over time. For example: One morning you go out pour cold water on your windshield to melt the ice that is there. It works. The next morning you go out and pour warm water on your windshield to get rid of the ice. You pour on the water, but the water freezes quickly. You therefore have proven that warm water on a windshield refreezes quickly and it is better to use cold water to get ice off your windshield.
Well, obviously there are many other reasons why the warm water would freeze more quickly. Yet experience has taught you that using cold water for this task will work better even though that concept is based on a complete fallacy.
Experience can only go so far because you are only sampling discrete data points through time. You don't do true study, you don't understand all the causes and effects, you don't have a broader picture of the real environment. You only know what you have observed. Now, this type of thing can work well for repetitive tasks and something of a certain type or consistency. But it is no replacement for learning and study and true critical thinking on the experiences, study and science that others have created (for Lair, I am referring to that "Book learnin'" stuff).
For example. You are good at rebuilding an M20 engine because you have done it a dozen times. You know the tricks and ins-and outs of doing it. But, let's also say that nobody ever told you what that engine did or what it was used for. You have never seen the engine in a car and have never even seen a car moving before. You have no idea what it does. You can effectively rebuild the engine because you have taken it apart and put it back together. You are experienced. However, you are still worthless for anything but the grunt labor of putting the engine together. Without study, either through what somebody else has shown you or reading, or experimentation, you aren't going to really know anything.
I am afraid that you, Lair, are just that type of person. You see a discreet event, you postulate that the event is the entirety of the situation, and make your experience judgment based off of that event. Experience has taught you that it is the right answer when in actuality, it might very well be the exception. The sad part is that you will never know which it is because you don't expand yourself past your tiny little niche in the world.
When it comes to economics, I will take that "certificate" knowledge that you are so derogatory towards here over your world experience any day.
Oh, and btw, that punk assed kid with the certificate has owned you from the start on this stuff.1987 E30 325is

Stop lying.
I didn't call anyone a "piece of shit".
Feel free to use whatever tools you need to make your feeble case, though.

hahahaha. You are so awesome. Piece of shit or "punkass" as you say, but diff.
I am actually more of a Savage fan that I am of Limbaugh BTW.Comment

"Punkass" is a fair description.
You should alternate pics of Savage and Limbaugh.
They both deserve credit for the opinions they spoonfeed to you.McCain's military draft: Are you willing to bet your life?Comment

This is what's great about having Lair around. You make a strong argument, and he immediately has some sort of backlash to discredit your thoughts that aren't rooted in something that is realistically supportive (this is particularly true in the economics department); usually rooted in inexperience or age discrimination.
When that doesn't work, he immediately points out the right wing agenda of the basis of economic princples, and how to believe in free markets/trade/capitalism immediately makes you a right-wing biggot (that's nonsense).
When that doesn't work, he points out that if you believe in the discipline of economics, then you must be a bush sack hanger. Or, in broader terms, if you point out that everything isn't as bad as people make it out to be, he also immediately reverts back to taking pop-shots and being a bush sack hanger.
Finally, when all of this has failed, he smugly retreats to the "I am better than you because blah blah blah, I'm so much more enlightened blah blah blah, I have been in the system longer, etc." Then simply labels you, does his best to revert back to my first observation, and then stops until someone else says something only to repeat the cycle again.PNW Crew

If RWH are your initials then you and I are long lost brothers, with the same initials.
That plus I agree with everything you have said. Carry on.Comment

Just wanted to quote this so I can refer to it when you post something about Obama's lack of experience and John McCain's supposed wealth of experience. This is what's great about having Lair around.
