      I'm no computer engineer, and I understand the guy built this as a challenge/project but I heard that the computer on the space ship could be replaced by the the chip-set on a pda phone?

        ^^ I don't know if they could "replace" it, but it is said that a standard phone has the 'computing power' of the Apollo computers.
