Branching Out - Lake Allatoona - Labor Day Weekend

Well I will have some shots that actually feature me from my god father and his Nikon. These are of my brother, dad and my god father's older son who does a pretty good job on the wake board. Should have some good shots when we took the Jet Skis(real Jet Skis) when he sends the pictures over.

The sun was killer and as we turned or headed in different directions I was always fighting it. It still gives it that feel that it was sunny so I guess it is not too bad :)

Whatcha think? Glad I got to branch out. Next time up I am going to ride on the tube sitting under the wake board to get some better shots :)

Kick ass man. I grew up on the rivers of the delta here in NorCal - my folks had some kind of boat for us to use from the time I was around 2 or 3 up until just a few years ago (read: 30+ years). Its been a while since I strapped any kind of waterski, wake board or knee board to my legs, but those shots bring back memories of some good times.

    Thanks for posting

They still jumping off the cliffs there at Allatoona? That was were we would go during the summer back in high school.

The cliffs right outside the yacht club?

No they are not, you can get ticketed and they are pretty serious about it now. Someone died and there was a lot of under age drinking going on there.

Those were the days. What a fun jump :)

            Cool pics.

Where did all that water come from?

Allatoona is full pool for this time of the year :)

Largest catch basin in the Southeast I believe. Lanier is the problem.

The last time I saw Allatoona, it was a dust bowl. Looks much better now. I haven't been on Lanier in 15 years, and it was a zoo the last time I went.

Fay hooked us up last week. We got around 24 inches of rain out of that deal. All of our lakes are overflowing.

And Gustav and Hanna should push some more our way.

When was it a dust bowl? End of last summer is was pretty far down but I was still up there riding the jet skis.

I refuse to go onto Lanier. The last time we took our 2 stands ups I cannot even count the time we were actually cut off on the lake via rental boats... It was scary.

Somebody on bfc posted some aerial pics last summer of boats that were completely out of the water, and entire sloughs that were completely dry.

There were pics of both lakes, and they both looked bad.
