Absolutely incorrect. Paul Stanley is just as much under the fog of "Doing it for the fans" and "All we care about is the fans" and "clap your hands for rock and roll" as the douche bag Gene is.

Musically, they were a pretty damn good band.

Possibly the main reason that I dislike them, and pretty much unanimously seen as horrible musicians. Nothing of what they did was commendable musically. Their music was abysmal. They even admit that their music is very subpar. They missed more notes than they hit.

Great way to recognize a good band. Thats always a great gauge, by how many women want to fuck them. I rememeber that band called Poison. So many girls wanted to fuck their brains out and they were SO GOOD musically!!!

But goddamn when they play god of thunder and fucking gene starts flying all over hell spitting blood, that's a pretty fucking awesome spectacle to behold.

Couldnt agree more, I hate KISS. I think they're nothing more than an extension of Gene himself. A money making marketing machine, nothing more. And I'm from Detroit, lot of KISS fans there...

Yeah, they suck. When I was in 5th grade one of my friends was really into them. He would play that "Christine 16" song and I remember thinking, these guys really suck (and I was only whatever age you are in 5th grade). At the time I remember trying to convince him that they weren't a real band and that they were only trying to sell lunch boxes (or whatever).

I agree that, musically, they are mediocre at best. The press and critics have been saying that themselves since KISS played their first shows...;)

KISS is one of those rare uber-famous bands where none of the members are really noted for their extraordinary skills on any instrument. I played bass for years; any numbnut can learn a Gene Simmons bassline in 10 minutes or less, seriously. Ace had some decent riffs, but nothing that didn't sound like what everyone else was playing better at the time.

No offence to any KISS fans here, but I don't really see what the big deal is/was either...
