It's 9/11. Please take a break from the normal day-to-day pace of life, and the political bickering on this board, for a few minutes and reflect on what occurred 7 years ago, the men who did it, what they were trying to accomplish, and the response of an entire nation the way few countries have responded in tough times. In a manner not seen since the Japanese attack to start us (officially) into WWII, the country rallied together to heal itself, to help those that were affected, and an entirely new class of unsung heroes was revealed in the fire and police forces of NYC and in average people across the nation.
And, thank God/Allah/Science that we only have one tragic day to remember in the years since. Whether you agree with national foreign policy or not, there's a lot of people who volunteered to go and do what they can to ensure it stays that way, and be ready to react when it happens again.
(please keep political bickering out of this thread. There's enough other threads to do it in, keep this thread clean out of respect for the turning point in our nation's recent history)
