    A company that big with that many brands of course is going to make crap and also make good stuff. Everyone wants to bash them but atleast they have exciting products toyota, ford, and for the most part VW don't. The new cts-v is absolutely crazy, the cts-v coupe looks so hot, and <flame suit on> I like the new camaro.

      my local Cadillac dealer has a V series convertible coupe, Supercharged (dont know is they're stock like that). such an amazing car. only 100k. the only thing my family drives, are GM's (with the exception of a couple porsches and BMWs, in the 80s). we never have had major problems with them. love em.

          Rustyduktape, you must be talking about the XLR-V. 'Vette chassis, supercharged Northstar 32v engine. Kinda hot imo.

            I've never been a huge fan of GM products. I will hand it to them that they make a good truck if you got something to tow or work in construction - they seem to take a lot of abuse and keep going. In terms of cars, the Vette is about it. In particular the current and previous generation.

            Given the current climate of the shifting wants/needs of automobiles, I wonder how well GM will weather this change. The foreign competition is catching up very quickly.

              GM products are cursed. No matter how cool one model is, there's always some styling flaw or tacked-on cheese that breaks the deal.

              I would like to get an old Chevy II and stick their new turbo DFI motor in it. That'd be my ideal Chevy.
              Not that I care, of course.

                      see, I love the early sixties chevrolets

                      The '64 Corvette Coupe might be my favorite American car, tied with the 1950 Ford F1 pickup. Sigh... dream garage...

                        Oh GM, keeps the mechanics of this nation a steady supply of broken cars to fix.

                        It's one of the most mismanaged American companies out there and if it wasn't for government subsidies and support they would have disappeared long ago.

                        I like how their brand new trucks come from the factory with piston knock. Mismachined blocks causing oil leaks requiring engine replacements that you have to fight like hell to get. They are cursed and have had reliability problems from day one.

                        GM = General Mishap

                        C = Cheap
                        H = Heap
                        E = Every
                        V = Valve
                        R = Rattles
                        O = Oil
                        L = Leaks
                        E = Every
                        T = Time

                        I will admit I do like a few of the old 50's and 60's Chevys.

                          With the exception of the E30 and my beater MPV, every car that I have ever owned was from GM. My favorites have always been the late 70's and 80's G-body cars. Some time ago a blind date asked me what my ultimate dream car was. I told her that it was an '86/'87 GNX in mint condition with the original sticker, keys, and paperwork.

                          I wasn't able to get a second date.

                            Maybe because she knew the GNX was made in 87 only :razz:
