    Google HTC Android Phone anyone?

Just in time for my upgrade... I was planning on leaving T-Mobile, finally, but this may be worth sticking around for. Open source too...

The last HTC's I saw while at T-Mobile were not impressive though.

Lot's of shit about it on engadget.com of course...

The nice thing about Android is that its open source and can be put on any phone that has the right amount of computing power to run it. The fact that others can develop applications for it is very cool too. With time I think this is going to be a trick set up to have for mobile devices.

As for the HTC phone, I've read about it some but haven't actually seen any in person. Its a cool looking device though.

NEW YORK (AP) - The first cell phone running Google Inc.'s mobile software looks something like Apple Inc.'s iPhone and has a large touch screen, but it also packs a trackball, a slide-out keyboard and easy access to Google's e-mail and mapping programs.

      Sweet!!!

no email support except gmail. boo.

it's cool, definitely not a smartphone for the masses. i don't like the "sidekick" styling. but i will probably pick one up, i'm still with t-mobile (after 6 years).

I've been with them for 7 years and honestly I'm still debating leaving... I'm sure future versions will be better. HTC could have done a better job.

the 1 gb data cap sucks too. so does no headphone jack, only 1 gig of memory, etc etc etc.
