Travis Barker plane crash?

I have a great deal of friends tied to him. I remember checking out a few of his Caddy's at local shows. We used to go hang out with them at a little Italian eatery when he was the drummer for the Aquabats in the ninety's. And he was a Fontana native, never heard of the Sac-town connection.

aquabats kicked ass!


i saw there show back in the 90's when they were opening for blink-182.

the story i remember was the drummer for blink left that night or the day before, and travis just filled in on the blink set after playing a good hour with the aquabats, and that's how he became the drummer!

I just read this,

Travis Barker's assistant wanted to get home in time for his pregnant wife to give birth.

We've now learned why Barker and his friends decided to get on that doomed Learjet in South Carolina late last night, and the explanation can only be described as a horribly cruel twist of fate.

It all started some time yesterday, when Barker's assistant, Chris Baker, told the guys that his wife was going into labor. Barker told him that he would do everything in his power to get Baker back to the hospital in time.

The quickest way back to Van Nuys was that Learjet. We're told Barker usually won't fly on private jets, but made an exception for what was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of Baker's life.

The plane crashed shortly after midnight, killing four people -- including Chris Baker. Baker's wife went into labor early this morning. Baker has another young child as well.

Now that is sad.

I really feel for them. I was letting my annoyance with celebrity culture spill over into this thread where it has not place (I don't even really think Travis Barker is a loser. I used to love Blink when I was in Highschool; not that it makes anything I said ok or justifies it. I feel embarrassed and wish it wasn't written) Lets not focus on me being an ass or piece of shit anymore ok? I don't need any attention here.

yeah this sux, I know people arent really fans with the celebrity lifestyle and what not, however i saw DJ AM perform at the gypsy bar in boston and the man has a great talent that he has marketed very well, and he kicks the shit out of a lotta guys who are supposed to be pretty big out there too, and i know im sure there are PLENTY of guys who are way better then him, he obviously had some luck and some things fall into his lap but he definately has talent

travis barker is also dirty at the drums, and i was/am a fan of blink 182, and im going to see an angels and airwaves (tom from blink is the lead singer) concert in a couple days, I wonder if tom will make any mention to this....

but otherwise this is wicked sad and i hope they make it out alrite, from what ive read, DJ AM sustained facial burns while barkers burns were all from the waist down

How badly are they burnt though? Did it say the degree? There's really no good place to be burnt. The face sucks and below the waste..... yeah. Burns are so horrible and take so long to try and fix, although if they're severe burns you never really heal. At least Travis' arms and hands weren't burnt because it can make your skin very tight and would cause trouble for playing the drums. The thing about plane crashes is that you just don't have the restraints and what not that one would have in a car. Seems like the plane should have some sort of halon system like a race car.

I have a couple of (fortunately small) places where I've severely burned myself in the past - on the order of 10-15 years ago. Every once in a while the skin in those places still gets weird and peels off to a pretty deep level. After it heals it will look totally normal for six months or so until it does it again. I can't imagine what it would be like to have severe burns on a significant portion of my body... :(

Yeah my brother burnt his index finger on his left? hand severely while welding and then after that he crushed it with a hammer. That was a few years ago and the finger is just gross. It looks like a raisin or something and the nail is like a potato chip.
