    An Important, Divisive Poll

It is evident to me, after reading the tome that the thread on Thursday's debate has become, that we are divided on one simple issue. I think if we are to become any sort of functioning forum on politics, and confront the burden of righting the nation's wrongs, we need to get this out on the table right now.

Have you, in the course of your daily life, ever seen John Carpenter's Escape from L.A, and if so what did you think of it?

      I haven't seen it / I'm into politics. Didn't have a selection for that..

"Big Trouble in Little China" FTMW...

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

Excellent point. Excellent. But could we put that on the back burner for the time being? In the course of this thread I'm sure several of JC's masterpieces will be offered up for consideration, but I would hope that the first page of a thread could at least stand to stay on topic.

            Thank you

I was going to put in a "snob option" for Escape from NY, but I decided we should keep this thread focused.

                          My favorite movie is:

                          The Thing

Did John Carpenter and Kurt Russel have some sort of romance going on? I swear he's in all Carpenters movies.
