I guess there goes their bullshit "Higher prices mean we pay more, we dont make more". In high school an aquaintance's dad owned a Shell station, and thats the line he would always feed. If it is true in his case, it obviously isnt true for Shell as a whole. When/if things switch where we can buy an affordable electric car, these oil companies will regret being so greedy.

Oil companies produce the energy those car's will run on, they also invested in hybrid technologies; they will always be making money. For the millionth time, oil companies profit percentages were very low, hardly being greedy. Hell the governments of this world make almost as much money as oil companies from the taxes on fuel.

I take this back, as world economy tanks, so would the oil from Arab countries. I would say, in the long run, fuel will be very cheap, it is just that with the economy tanking, would anybody would be able to afford them?
