General Motors is in preliminary talks

    Whoa!!!

    www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27125864/

WASHINGTON - General Motors is in preliminary talks about a possible merger with Chrysler, The New York Times reported late Friday.

The talks between GM and Cerberus Capital Management, which owns Chrysler, began more than a month ago, the Times reported on its Web site.

Two people close to the talks told the Times the chances of a merger were “50-50.”

oh yeah that's just what GM needs, more dead weight and another division that competes for the same mrket segment as existing divisions in their lineup

P.S. I didn't read the article so hopefully this post wasn't retarded

I thought GM only wanted to buy car division of Chrysler, and Ford wanted to buy their trucks. GM and Ford need to be taught a lesson.
