Anything to do in Baron Rouge, LA?

I'm going to be there on saturday picking up a motor and would prefer not to waste the day driving. Is there anything worthwhile to see or do? Even an awesome place to eat? I'll be driving up in the morning and leaving probably mid to late afternoon.

    piercede30 - don't you live up there?

Edit: Title changed to baton rouge - not "Red Baron, LA" lol....

I used to live there for years, plenty of great restaurants to eat at. What are you looking for?

Just something to break up the driving. I mean, we'll be in LA - can't go wrong with seafood, right?

Any sight see-ing to do? Hiking? I searched with little avail

Restaurant wise, you can't go wrong with Boutin's (cajun food) or Drusilla's (seafood). The Chimes (two locations) also has damn good food and a good beer selection.

For outdoors type activities I don't really know what all might be available. Louisiana is pretty flat and boring. Anything fun outdoors usually requires a boat there. ;)

Thanks for the tips. I'll just mill around in the city for a while and head back I guess.

I'm picking up a 1600 motor. Supposedly it has 10k on a rebuild. I'm going to run it until I get my other motor built. The price is so low I can't pass it up.

What does this game night include? I was going to maybe go to new orleans - but I have Texans tickets for sunday at 3.

                            Drinking and bitches. Haha
Right in the middle of Tiger Town. The game is away so the traffic isn't going to be bad around LSU.
