Join the freakin' club - at least you are making something at the moment - I've been out of the game for a couple months and the job market stinks right now. If things don't improve soon I'm going to get a paper route so I can fund future E30 projects.

Welcome "in between opportunities" Canadian newbie. Get to job hunting and you'll be back to dumping money into your e30 in no time.

Odd how different regions have different job markets. Not just nationwide, by statewide even. In Fresno you cant find a job, in Sacto its apparently hard to get a job, here in Slo there are plenty of jobs.

I haven't made $9.25 an hour since high school, no way I could live on that amount of money.

You guys that are struggling to find jobs, what kind of jobs are you going after? By choice I'm on my 3rd job in the last year and in the same amount of time have raised my base pay by close to 50% from jumping around.

Not trying to come off as cocky or arrogant, I'm seriously interested.

I've had a job for about 4 years straight now, but when I didn't have room mates for like 5 months, and I had some other unexpected bills to pay, I felt very stressed out. I had to pay my entire mortgage and work a shit load after school so i didn't have to liquify any of my savings.

I can't imagine living from paycheck to paycheck for any extended period of time. And just losing my job like that would make me sick and angry.

this is the first time i have been jobless for more than a month in a long time. 7 years ago for 2 weeks, 2 years ago for 3 weeks, and that is about it.

i have never been unemployed like this since high school. it is fucking shit!
there just isn't anything really out there!

i am looking to anything right now. i am thinking of getting a job at the hospital as an orderly! at least it pays $15 an hour here.

last week i sent out 68 resumes last week and no replies, not just to body shops, but to welders too. nothing!

Ok - here's some dirt on me....

Area if Interest: professional office setting (law firms, state government agencies, etc.)
Background: legal field (10 years experience)
Education: Bachelors of Science + Paralegal certification from an ABA approved school
Skills: legal writing, research, case management, trial preparation, etc.

I had an interview with a state agency this afternoon for an Analyst position - it went really well I felt. Problem is, I've never worked in the public sector and I know there's some internal interest for this position. Would love to be the selected candidate. Pay isn't quite as good as the private sector, but the job security is very good as are the benefits & retirement plan. The current economic climate has made finding work in my chosen area difficult. Not very many firms are hiring right now.

You can buy clean pee off the internet. Also some of those things you can buy at smoke shops really work. The wizzinator or whatever its called it top of the line.

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.
