Ok - here's some dirt on me....
Area if Interest: professional office setting (law firms, state government agencies, etc.)
Background: legal field (10 years experience)
Education: Bachelors of Science + Paralegal certification from an ABA approved school
Skills: legal writing, research, case management, trial preparation, etc.
I had an interview with a state agency this afternoon for an Analyst position - it went really well I felt. Problem is, I've never worked in the public sector and I know there's some internal interest for this position. Would love to be the selected candidate. Pay isn't quite as good as the private sector, but the job security is very good as are the benefits & retirement plan. The current economic climate has made finding work in my chosen area difficult. Not very many firms are hiring right now.

A few years ago after leaving her boyfriend, she finally got a job with Northeast OK District Attorney's Office, once they selected her for the position her background check took about 4 months. I barely even know all the stuff she gets to do as she isn't allowed to tell me.
Good luck to all you guys struggling right now.
It's a crazy, fucked up scary kinda time right now. My only solace is that even if the defense budget gets nailed after the presidential election, we already have enough contracts secured for the next 4-5 years. Just long enough for me to get some money socked away and get my MBA.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Wow. deffinetly a big good luck to those of you that are doing lots of leg work to get a job back. I had sent out tons of resumes, faxing and email to no end it seemed, when 9/11 hit. My current job fell into my lap and have been riding pretty since then so i'm pretty fucking lucky.
I know that anything can happen and i too could be another one of you, looking for a job. I'm pretty much ready to take anything to make sure i have income. I know my position is pretty safe, but i've kept my eye on a couple positions with other companies that could take me, if the market were to turn REALLY bad.Comment
