Its a breath of fresh air to hear that someone worked hard, saved up and got a home to call their own. Most of the people I grew up with are now jumping on the "oh, I didn't know my mortgage would jump up - I can't pay it! Save me Uncle sam!" band wagon.

Oh and BTW - when they are done with construction next door - the two green tubes in your yard - call the cable and the telephone company and tell them to put it underground on the curb. If they don't get a friend to run over it with a truck - eventually they will get the idea.

Will do! They just broke ground next door so maybe we can get them buried ;)

It turned out awesome! Congrats. Like blunt said, there is nothing like owning. Every day I look at my house and know the only person who can kick me out is my wife!

I can't wait to own my own house. We just finally started saving a few months ago, we got accepted into a program that matches what we save 3 to 1, for a period of 13 months, provided that we use it ONLY toward the purchase of a house.

Sure I am a 'poser'. It is in between stages. Not quite a club racer and still do the HPDE thing. Building the house killed off racing this year so will have to wait till late next year. Not the end of the world.

Sponsors put forth money and labor and parts and safety gear so they got spots on the car.

I don't see what the issue is and why everyone gets their panties in a bunch. Do you watch F1 and comment on the livery of the racers vehicles? Sure I am not racing but an HPDE event is much cheaper when people pay for the event for you or send you a full set of brakes for free ;)
