I have 25 credits if straight engineering classes this term, 5 out of 7 are 400 level senior classes too. Plus senior project design. I spend roughly 12-16 hours a day on campus working, every day of the week.

I have read the books both candidates have written. I have spent hours sifting through the rhetoric looking for clues past what the extremely partisan popular media and blogs have to offer. I have come to the conclusion that were this 2000, McCain would likely have gotten my vote. However, Sen. Obama's intellectual curiosity, knowledge of American history and desire to make America great again have won me over. I like the idea that we can again thrive through programs that let the middle and lower classes keep more of their money while those that have profited from outsourcing America's jobs become more accountable. That is what he means by "redistribute the wealth", in spite of the kneejerk idiots who say "I ain't gonna work no more overtime, cuz he's just gonna take mah money". The GOP has pandered to poor, barely engaged people with scare tactics. And following someone largely because they've scared you is a possible sign of ignorance.

As to your comments on his Aunt: I fully support helping those that can't help themselves. Family is paramount in that, I will never criticize someone for helping the poor. But when someone uses the promise that he will do so to win an election, then shows no history of helping someone in private life, I question his motives. People should help other people, not the government. If he was to give tax incentives for donating money to charity, service in a soup kitchen, etc. (and I know there are a few out there currently) I would be wholeheartedly behind that. But I will choose how my money gets spent, not the people clamoring for it.
