No one said the Constitution was not a living document, however you seem to agree with completely abandoning the ideals based on the idea that "things are different". Fist off, nearly half of America is not ecstatic about his election. Did you see the popular vote? Ya, McCain got hosed in the electoral college, but the popular vote was close. To help you understand, that means nearly half of Americans did not want Obama to win, but Obama and Oprah now think we are all "united" so we must be.

And you can run a country the same way you can based on fundamentals. The foundation that was laid for this country through the Constitution leaves you with the ability to adjust it to culture adjustments and changes in the climate of the country. Also, as long as the Constitution still stands we should live by it and vote for our officials based upon it. When it changes then we can talk, but as for now it is still there.

Furthermore, democracy predates the feudal system. What's wrong with feudalism? The rigid classes and high power of the few and lowly state of many? Hmmm, well, don't we have elected officials and bureaucrats who are above the common man in representative democracy? Let's get rid of that too and make a classless society of equality. Let's do it comrade!

Communism is like feudalism, only instead of a king, the State owns the land and gives food, services to the serfs. The State takes protection from the people instead of knights and the State takes money from everyone.

So once again, let's look at the unfairness of feudalism. It seems wrong that some people are at the top and others are stuck at the bottom with no mobility. Well, the socialist solution is to make everyone the same with taxing so that no matter what, everyone is equal and satisfied... although no matter what you do, you're not going to be greatly rewarded - and in kind no matter how hard you don't try or mess up your life, you're going to be cared for. What's the motivation to excel? Socialism relies on intrinsic motivation to work. Do you SEE much intrinsic motivation in America among the people who vote for social programs?

So how can we all be successful and have mobility more than feudalism? How about the people who work hard and delay gratification get rewarded and can own the fruits of their labor? Those who carelessly manage their lives are not pulled up by pulling down those who are working hard. Even if you have humble beginnings, you can make something great of yourself, like Governor of California even. Likewise, there are no guarantees through royal bloodlines that the aristocrats stay on top. After lack of hard work, their wealth runs out for the majority in the third generation and make room for the next people who work harder, take risks, and get lucky.

That is what the American dream is all about. People are giving up their lives and saying goodbye to families back home in order to come here to be a part of that. Sorry you don't appreciate it.
