anyone ever heard of this place? this is how you run a business.
i built my mom an e34 540 2 1/2 years ago after finding an 18k mile m60 for 1500 bucks. so i sprung for a rebuilt auto tranny from this outfit. just so id know the car was right and i didnt have to worry about my mom. 2 1/2 years later the tranny is acting up. its 6 months out of warranty so i call kirt at autosport up and explain my situation. he tells me its 6 months out of warranty but he doesnt care. he doesnt build trannys to break in that amount of time. hes sending me a replacement. wtf? i have been bumming for 2 days worrying id have to fuck with this thing and sink more money into it. i would have done a 6 speed conversion and got her something else i think but this makes it really easy. thats a good outfit

Agreed. In todays economy you have to weild the "we love your business so much, we'll fuck ousrselves" mentality. Wish I was in michigan. My e39 tranny will shit bricks soon enough...sigh.

You said the car is for your mom, if she can drive a manual, I suggest throwing a Getrag 420G in there. The 4HP30 is a shitty transmission plagued with issues. My mom, too, has one in her E34 540i M-Sport. It was replaced at 128k, the car now has 198k on it and it is very clunky and jerky shifting into gear, only a matter of time before takes a crap.

That's my advice anyways, considering the funds are there to swap a 420G in there.

People are just better when you get about 1000 miles away from either coast. I really like the atmosphere of Western WA; and more populated areas in general, but you really can't beat midwest hospitality (not sure if MI is considered midwest or not).

yes thats him. i found out about him from searching message boards 2 1/2 years ago. it all turned out to be true. hes been really good to me. i think part of it is my charming personality

Last I knew, their European trans guys were at the Franklin St location in Zeeland. They may have consolidated their transmission builds to the 120th location in Holland with the trans shop that is there.
