the news was reporting yesterday that some union workers on the line were making $73 per hour + perks!Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

i worked for the afl-cio for a summer organizing janitors and home health care workers. the companies they worked for treated their employees like SHIT. these were poor hardworking people who got shit on - sexual harassment, no overtime pay even though they worked the hours, etc. they basically had no voice. the organizing effort wasn't to get them $25 per hour, but rather just basic workplace rights that you and i take for granted every day.Last edited by hugh jass; 11-19-2008, 05:14 PM.______________________

why doesnt it surprise me that carl the bleeding heart liberal would have a soft spot for the parasitic union scum

Fuck unions.
My company was awesome (worldwide tier 1 telecommunications company). As of December 28th, I will work for some bullshit union as part of a bargaining agreement (the union made my company give up some departments to "give us a voice"). They fuckin spoofed our managers email addresses and sent emails, tricked some people into signing. Kiss my fuckin dick. Now we have no choice... it's go union or go home jobless.
The benefits suck dick, the pay scale sucks dick, the promotion scale sucks dick, the dues suck dick, the vacation time sucks dick, the "seniority rules" ethic sucks dick. It all sucks dick.
The other parts of our company that are already union are worthless slackers. They do one little job and refuse to do anything outside of that. It's unfuckingproductive, and a PITA.
I've been raging pissed off about this for the past 2 months since I found out.
Me and a friend asked our Director what incentive we have to work hard, compared to someone who does just enough to get by. He said "There is none, that's why we tried to keep the union out".
/rant that really has nothing to do with this thread
