Just got my 16GB 3G iPhone last week and it truly is awesome.
I've already added Slacker, Pandora and Shoutcast in addition to a bunch of other apps and even watched a few movies here at work during the slow times.
My Clarion HU supports iPod playback, so that's another bonus.
Chicks dig it too.sigpic

As much as I hate Mac's, Mac O/S anything, QT, and Safari, the iPhone rocks.

What....the thread or a BlackBerry?
A few months ago I was phone shopping but job/money issues put it on the back burner. Now things are better - and I recently learned that my employment with the state qualifies me for a discount on service plans (not on phones, unfortunately). So for the last week or so I have been looking at a new phone in earnest and I have narrowed my options to two carriers in my area (AT&T and T-Mobile). The market has seen a parade of new touch screen devices roll out....Samsung in particular has some neat phones....but after having a chance to toy with the whole touch screen concept, I'm not so sure I want one now (especially for texting....just not digging it, even in landscape mode). My aunt recently got an iPhone and although its display and graphics rendering is nice, I'm not totally sold on the thing so I am ruling it out of my options as well. Right now my top two choices are:
BlackBerry Bold 9000 thru AT&T. 3G, quad band & WiFi connectivity, nice interface, decent camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth, expandable memory to 32GB and half VGA display with 65K colors. For texting and push e-mail, I think this is the device to have. It's everything a business user could want plus some extras. Only downer: the price. Expect $200+ w/ contract.
BlackBerry Curve 8900 thru T-Mobile. This service providers performance and coverage varies depending on your location. Around Sacramento and the bay area, its a pretty solid performer for the price. They don't have the 3G speeds of AT&T, but its EDGE signal seems to work well for the BlackBerry devices. This model has quad-band connectivity like the Bold 9000 as well as WiFi. Its a bit more multimedia than the 9000 with a better camera and video capture/playback, not sure on expandable memory specs yet its all you can expect from a BlackBerry - including the updated interface and resolution like the 9000. This device can be had for $150 with a 2 year contract.
I think between the two I like the 8900 a bit more. The spacing of the keys on the qwerty keyboard is better suited for my fat-fingering tendencies plus its a bit cheaper than the 9000. Although it would be acquired thru T-Mobile (and its slower network), I think it would just fine for my primary purposes: e-mail and text.
Jon
Go with the Bold if you want cutting edge processsor and graphics etc like the Iphone.
Either way you slice it, RIM is droppin phones that are more capable than the iphone in the first fuckin try. Its taken the iphone 3 years now to compete with all the same capabilities. The trivial apps that Apple is pushing out is really cool and stuff, but I dunno about you guys but I have a job and a real use for a phone that does nice push email and is actually secure.
It all depends on waht you need I guess. But I usually shake my brain and my tummy when I wanna find a spot to eat, not my phone.Comment

I dunno if you noticed this, but the thread title is "Blackberry Addicts Unite" and not " Hey we're talkin bout Blackberrys, all Mac lovin Steve Jobs dick suckin jackasses come in and clutter shit up"
Can you tell im sick and tired of Apple?
Edit: Sick and tired of iphonesComment

And if you bothered to read/comprehend it, I did mention I despise Mac's, Mac O/S's, Apple, Safari, etc...
Like I said, lighten up. It's not worth getting all butt-hurt over something so trivial, and it makes you less productive at your "real job"sigpic

I have been hearing about 2300 apps in a torrent for an iPhone. Why isn't this exsist for our beloved storm?Comment

Well, in particular for the Storm, most of the apps designed for Blackberrys dont work well because of the touch aspect.
Theres a shit ton of apps for Blackberrys, more than for the iPhone, its just you have to look for them elsewhere other than a pretty layed out App Store. This is why Blackberry is following suite with the App Store for us. To make it easier to find them.Comment
