It's weird, too, because didn't you play Johnny Tran in that movie?

dear lord, NC has got a bad rep now

if y'all think the write-up was bad, you should have seen the video. I saw it twice, on the local news here.

"Those charges include prearranged spontaneous racing..."

              Prearranged spontaneous?

              Hah. ha.

But how could they get up to over 130 mph with only 700 blocks of road?

If you're gonna make fun of them, at least spell it right.

                      Retard.

                      :stupid:

Drag racing has always been popular in RURAL NC, mostly rednecks with drag-prepped muscle cars. They busted a bunch of people in Eastern NC not too long ago after a couple of spectators got killed when one of the drivers lost control and ran off the road into a bunch of people. But it still goes on because they're bored.

This latest crackdown seems to be geared towards ricers/street racers. Funny to me how they mention the cars and they say shit like "modified Hondas, Mustang GT's and Cobras and BMW M3's"...... Then they explain to the reader that many of these cars are equipped with Nitrous, which is illegal for street cars in NC, and how one of the Japanese cars had aftermarket racing seats installed which were too wide for the stock seatbelts to reach around.....then they go on to explain how this just proves that safety is not top on the list of mods these guys make to their cars.

I think street racing is stupid and they should impound and crush the cars once the drivers are convicted, but the quality of reporting of this stuff is even worse.

Well, I'll be the hypocrite. I do streetlight drag races with my wife whenever we're both on the road together. I can't help it, my wife totally asks for it. There are some idiots who take that trash too effing serious, though.

They're OWNING everyone at the races here, it's funny as hell to me.

                            80 arrested in July

And my friend was telling me that the police were talking about stopping the races and a supposed "ring leader" of the races(which is bullshit, no one controls or organizes it, it just happens and everyone knows) decided a lot of people should go, thinking they couldn't do anything about it with so many people, well, the cops showed up, and blocked everyone in, gave everyone tickets This was Saturday night.

Wait...so if you run a stop sign and have an exhaust or "[racing] tires" they can sell your car at auction?

"Those charges include prearranged spontaneous racing, reckless driving, stop sign violations, and improper use of a registration plate."
