    Anybody know about SAABS?

My girl friend wants to upgrade from a focus to a nicer car. The TSX is in her price range and I think that is the best choice, but she seems to really like the SAAB 9-3. They seem to be a good deal lightly used. Anybody ever own a saab?

They look sweet, but I wouldnt count on one passed the warranty expiration date.
Riddled with issues from what I understand and have seen.

Whatever you do, don't buy one. Not only are they shit, but it is nigh impossible to find a mechanic willing to work on one.

I often stare at Saabs and think they look very good and say maybe I'd like to own one, but then I remind myself that GM STILL owns saab and it quickly snaps me back to reality and I think I'm an idiot for wanting. Also with the TSX, you get honda reliability.

I will admit that Saabs are good-looking

I would have the 9-2x, but just because it's really an Subi Impreza

Just asking because she can get a nice 9 3 with only 30k miles for 15 thousand dollars. 210 hp and 30 mpg highway sound pretty good to me. The reviews seemed pretty positive as well. I know its not up to par with a TSX but its about 10k less expensive. Her parents are kicking in some money as some sort of present and are trying to get her to buy an Murano or Altima. I'm lobbying heavily against it as I hate CVT.

New Nissans are OK, but I'd rather have a TSX.

There are no e46s for sale in GSO?

Yeah well I already tried the e46 route. She is a salesperson for a living and concerned that a BMW is too flashy because she has to take clients to lunch sometimes. Plus her parents are convinced BMW's are horribly unreliable. At least I managed to steer her away from Volvo's... but I think actually sitting in an S40 steered her away from volvo. I think she should just buy a TSX and not worry about her parents.

Just make sure you get new springs, fix the rear subframe, and do your control arms when you buy one haha.

Or so I see from people I know. :letitout:

I own a 98 9000cse. It has high miles and I beat on it, but has been perfectly reliable for the 20,000 miles I have driven it. I haven't had to do anything besides for oil changes.

With that said though, I have had to fix a few of the newer ones at the shop I work at- there quality seems to have really gone downhill. A 01 9-3 with 100k came in with bad bearings and a 03 9-5 with a bad turbo. My friend has a 02 with bad rings.

From the cars you have mentioned, I would say the TSX is probably the most reliable only because I haven't seen any come in yet for anything more than maintenance items.
