We were just discussing this topic at work. People have been getting hit left and right. I work with 20 people max. Yesterday a co-workers audi was stolen out of her parking lot. the week before the design directors whole housing complex was ransacked for EVERYTHING. A few days before that another co-workers car was broken into and they took his GPS and IPOD.
The recent boom in theft is being attributed to the shitty economy and people's desperation...and it's supposed to get a lot worse real soon. So keep your shit on lock and use that CODE function.
I've been making sure to empty my car of anything valuable every time I get out. If you don't have home owners now would be a good time.
i once found a guy cleaning some tools and other valuables out of my truck in the mall parking lot, i grabbed my hitch ball wrench from out of the bed and left him bleeding in the parking lot.

Some assholes broke into my camry about a year ago. They were going for the 4 year old cheap kendwood cd player. They didnt get it, because its actually bolted to the car (from the factory).
They were however sucessful in breaking the drivers window, interior and exterior door handles (WTF!!) and all of the trim surrounding the radio. Cost me 300 bucks and they didnt even get anything.
