Where are you guys getting your ar's from? everyone around here is having trouble getting them, one gun shop told most of the manufactures are backordered. I was going to trade in my mini-14 rr and my 10/22 + cash, but my shop sold his last one.

I shot my friends bushmaster superlight a few months ago, ever since ive been hooked. My mini-14 feels like crap ever since.. its like going from a chevy to a bmw.

An AR platform is an amazing design that allows you multiple advantages. the AR shoots a 22 cal bullet at super fast speeds and is accurate out to 600 yards with a trained shooter. With little recoil. (22 cal is the size diameter of some pellet guns traveling 3000+- fps)

It is modular, meaning you can build it in stages and does not require you to put all your money up front.

There is a huge following with this style rifle so there is a huge aftermarket industry allowing you to modify it much like a car. You can add and take off, change things easily with out being a gunsmith.

It gives you the option of carrying a high round count. This making it more fun to shoot with out having to reload it.

Ammo up until now was not that bad compared to hunting rounds. Costing .25 cents per round. Now more like .40 to .50 cents per. You are able to hunt with it and taking such game as rabbit, to a deer with it.

There are sporting shoots that make this gun popular. I am active in 3 gun matches. Where speed and accuracy is judged on time and target count.

So with all that above it makes for an amazing rifle to shoot. They make these rifles in multiple calibers, including 9mm.

I suggest if you like to try something like this, find a rental place and ask to shoot one. Respect and understand what a tool like this is capable of doing and you most likely will enjoy shooting one!

x2 + enforcing our constitutional right to overthrow the government when we the people decide it has become to controling. As of 2008 we now have less freedoms, higher taxes and a more controling government than we did in england. If you could change anything by voting, it would be illegal.

Local gun shops are the worst place to find one unless you live next to one of the larger distributors or manufacturing plants. Check AR15.com in Equipment Exchange and you will find dealers and private sales. The gun community is a small industry and its kind of got to be in the know to find the deals. Spend some time on the site listed and you will find those in the know. Just like finding car parts for your E30. You dont go to the dealer unless you just have to. Good luck!

as far as hand guns what would you reccomend? ive only ever used the beretta m9. i know its a military issue so im not sure if they use it because of superiority of because of cost.

Honestly, I'm looking to get around $11.5k for it, and being that your in Florida you could probably find a similar rig local for a lot less.

Im partial to H&K i just love the feel. The usp .45 fits me very well. I have big hands so many handguns just dont feel right for me. My dad has a P7M8 its pretty cool, but im not sure id fork over the $1800 for a handgun that you can cock from the grip.

well you got that, its because of cost mostly. The best thing is to go to a range and try several out. Im partial to 1911 guns and Glocks. Others like HK and Sig. Just try and find what works for you!
