DMV sucks

Ordered California Special Interest plates (http://dmv.ca.gov/online/elp/elp.htm) a few months back (september or october) and got a notice in the mail yesterday that they are available for pick-up. I drive down the local DMV office to pick them up, and bring the vehicle registration and old plates and they refuse to give me the new plates since my car is registered as non op. All fees have been paid, everything is current, but they just won't release them to me.

WTF. I ask them to show me where it states that a car can't be non-op to have custom plates and they couldn't deliver, and will "research it and get back to me tomorrow". I explained to them that all fees are paid, everything is current, and I can't get the car all up and running in 30 days to get the damn plates, but they don't care.

What a f-ing joke.

I swear every time you go in there they always find some fucking way to make sure you can't just do it one visit! I missed 1 check box and the bitch sent me away and it was 10 mins before closing. The car is in my fathers name and only I was present so I couldn't legally check the box! Gimme a fucking break, I wanted to check her forehead against the counter.

you would think that the DMV would be a fair cross section of 'normal' people, given that everyone needs to go there eventually. every time i go, i see the weirdest fucking people on the planet. they are either dressed ridiculously, talk to themselves, smell like rancid anus or dont speak a word of english, or some combination thereof.

Did I mention that I live in California, the reg on my car is 46$ a year, insurance was 160$ for the year and I don't have to smog it either. Eat a snow covered dick.:)

Yea, well I have rear seats, and the state of California cant hold me responsible for unpaid parking tickets. Eat a NA e30 dick!:p BTW I have ?'s about instrument training locally, PM to follow.

well my DL is good through 2015 and I have a lifetime plate on my e30 for 70 bucks never have to get tags for it ever again. As well as no smog. If you want to play that game. 8)
