    12/17/07 George Carlin Interview

My apologies if this might be a repost - I found these browsing YouTube this evening and watched all of it. Archive for American Television did an extensive and candid interview with George Carlin in mid December of last year - about 7 months before he passed away. Its not the usual material you come to expect from Carlin.....its more of an introspective look into his life and career. Everyone who considers themselves a fan ought to watch it. The video is broken into 7 parts. Total playtime is nearly 3 hours. Of all the celebrity deaths of 2008, I consider George Carlin's passing the greatest loss.

    Part 1 of 7, duration 29:25

    Parts 2 & 3 of 7, duration 59:43

    Part 4 of 7, duration 25:34

    Part 5 of 7, duration 29:47

    Part 6 of 7, duration 29:35

    Part 7 of 7, duration 7:51

I was on my way out east from home to go to a job. I was listing to my XM and the stand up sit down on the comedy channel with the Carlin replay on a sunday morning, they broke into the middle of it to break the news that he had passed. They had just done that interview like 2 or 3 weeks before it was kinda creepy. They went all through his history from childhood in NYC to where he was in his career this summer, then the next Wednesday it was all Carlin.
