Yeah, I was using it for a few months on my XPS m1330 laptop, no problems, way better than vista or xp. and this was before the beta. i ran the beta for a couple months on the laptop and then bought the mac mini. I figured I would give leopard a shot, but upon upgrading the harddrive I decided that I prefer windows 7 to leopard. with that said, i would rather use leopard than vista. Boot camp is very easy to use. I have a 400GB windows partition and a 65GB leopard partition. The default boot disk is windows. if i turn on the computer and hold down the option key, it lets me pick what i want to load.
The only downside to using boot camp is that when loading windows, you have to stare at a grey screen for about 90-120 seconds before windows starts the booting process. The computer sits there and does nothing. I think this is done purposely, so people think windows loads slowly on a mac and will only use it when they absolutely must. Once it starts to boot, it goes very quickly.
Anyone download the Windows7 Beta yet?

Anyone know a release date for it or when it will start to be pre-installed on computers? I'm looking at a new Dell notebook at the moment, but would gladly wait a little longer to get Windows 7 on there.Leave a comment:

I don't know if the beta did, but this is the Release Candidate, it's one step before the final version. I haven't installed mine yet.Leave a comment:

My main reason for wanting 7 is media center functionality.
Does the beta have Media Center?
I also wanna know if my Hauppague HVR-1250 and my Logitech ZCinema speakers will work with 7...as those are the two primary reasons I would upgrade from XP.Leave a comment:

After working few weeks with Vista, I went back to XP. Feel a bit sceptical towards new MS products, but I'm too lazy to go Linux ;)
I'll just wait untill one of the geeks here at work will polute his PC with Win7, and see how it works before I decide ;)Leave a comment:

I am thoroughly satisfied with windows 7. it runs perfectly on my mac mini.Leave a comment:

My friend (huge computer nerd) was one of microsofts beta testers, says it's the speed of XP with the face of vista, on crack. I have to try it out on my next build, I refuse to install/use vista.Leave a comment:

Just thought I'd update this since the official RC1 version was leaked last week, but it comes out officially on May 5th. I just downloaded it last night, and burned the iso to DVD today. I want to install it, but I need to backup my system first. Anyone install it yet?Leave a comment:

I am too, but at the time I bought the laptop I have now (~18 months ago) Vista was still fairly new so I opted for XP Pro. I've been reading up on Windows 7 and it sounds like a good one. It will be interesting to see what feedback we can get about it here.

Hmm, I'll have to check it out then. I never tried Vista because my employer told me that the software wouldn't work.
I've just had good fortune with xp, so I've never seen the need to update. Same reason I still run osx tiger that is pushing 4 years old on my powerbook; it has never failed to do anything I've needed it to.Leave a comment:
