I don't own a gun but i'm more of the who hunts with an assault rifle? but at the same time the stats show murders happen with pistols not assault rifles so...something right is in place from stopping bad people from just going around GTA style and killing everyone for fun.
well I guess they saw there's a saturation point where the gov't goes "now whats gonna happen if a huge riot does occur?" I can see this as the gov't is actually afraid for themselves. As some one else posted the number of people who own guns is bigger then any of the standing army's of the world.

I'm all for the idea that they want to get people really angry about one thing so they can go and do another. (curtain) And whats a bigger topic then gun control? what would happen to the NRA? all the gun magazines? hunting shows? I can't even imagine a funeral of any one in the armed service or the police/fire dept without one of those guns being shot.

So don't fret and worry about this getting passed by congress, BUT if it does just show up with all your Hunting/sport weapons to congress and ask them again. Most people have guns for there friends as well so share the wealth and just ask them for gas money to DC and they WILL listen.

well you see the line that I have separated out. Thats is the point of the 2a and thats the whole reason its there. It has nothing to do with hunting, sport shooting or really defending against invading armies. It about the government serving the people not the other way round. We are quickly on the road to our own destruction as a people at the hands of our elected officials under the guise of security an the good of the many.

its not about hunting, I dont hunt and im a gun owner.

Also most murders happen with UNREGISTERED handguns. Which means that is totally irrelevant because were talking about government control. The government cant do anything to stop unregistered weapons, aside from coming into everyones house and turning the place upside down looking for them. Which under the patriot act is perfectly acceptable.

Protection, security, target shooting. The greatest reason "you never know"

Im not planning on killing anyone but if the situation arises where I need to protect myself I know I can. I also have certian items that would be quite desirable would we fall into a depression.

Its a sport just like auto crossing and road racing. A skill you develop that you might need to use one day to protect you and your family.

FUCK you, this is a back door to circumventing the Constitution, even if you dont own a gun and dont care if you lose the right. Well how about losing the right to free speech, or the right to not incriminate ones self, or lose the rights to refuse an unreasonable search. Where I live has nothing to do with it, I like the "middle of no where" and 2 I will not even go for a hike in the mountains with out at least a .44 as we have bears (black and brown) mountain lions, and wolves. so yeah I guess I dont need any thing over sized as a .44 can just pancake on the brest bone of a griz.

Your right a new prez cant do it alone but you could with the 2 biggest anti gun guys in govt. in the country as the perz vice prez an a supper majority in the congress biased to the anit gun agenda's then yes it can happen.
