Honestly, what adult would let a 14 year old kid get under their skin like that? That's kind of pathetic...

That kid was the more mature of the two...

High school kids don't listen. I saw this. I was at a high school football game last year and this kid was standing in the row in the stand, big kid, people had a hard time getting around him. He was talking to a girl sitting on the end.
Cop looks up and tells the kid to move, that the aisle needs to be clear-- if someone has a heart attack or something. Cop moves on. Kid pretends he didn't hear. Next time around, the same cop says the same thing to kid, a little louder. So the kid starts walking down the steps and the cop moves on. As soon as the cop was out of sight, the kid went right back to the same place to talk to the girl.
This whole time, people are having a hard time getting around his fat ass.
The third time, the cop walks up, gets his nightstick out, just touches the end of it to the kid's chest and said, what did I tell you to do? Kid shrugs his shoulders. So with his stick, he pushes the kid into a seat. The mother comes over, and says what is going on, my kid wasn't doing anything wrong. The cop walks to the bottom of the stand and said something to her I couldn't hear it. She then went to her son and said something in his ear, I didn't hear it.
      Well, guess what?
She went to the next council meeting, which they put on TV here, and said that the chief of police should be fired, the cop should be fired, that the police were out of control and she demanded the mayor fire the cop. Because the cop used excessive brutality against her son.
Then she filed a lawsuit against the police for brutality.
And the police settled the case out of court and the taxpayers had to pay for this bitch and her asshole son.
So you tell me, why would anyone want to be a cop?
I've never noticed you before today, and I'm already glad you've been banned.

Kid called the Cop dude. Stupid, but not thrown to the ground stupid. Officer Rivieri is the same guy that got into a fight with a remote control car in that other youtube video.

yeah..i just dont understand those kids. which is why i tend to not talk to them because they tend to be really annoying and whine to their parents about everything.

God forbid, but what if someone skating broke their neck and they were paralyzed for life? NOT common accident I know, but who wants to be in that situation? There's no winners, the skater is fucked, the property owner is fucked. The parents may not be able to afford costs to care for the son or daughter, so their insurance company would sue the property owner to get care for the victim. Cause the insurance company doesn't want to pay.

Keep it safe, keep it real. Even Johnny Knoxville fucks up every once in awhile :)
i know what you're saying. i broke my wrist at a skatepark a while back. there wasnt a sign saying "skate at your own risk." i called my parents to inform them and they said well hey, it happens. i thought they were going to be scared and be freaked out. but they were cool with it. since im doing the skating, i take the responsibilities for my actions. good or bad. my parents aren't the ones who will sue for something like that. nor will i.

        but thanks, will do.

Appears that Office Rivieri was suspended after this made YouTube and another person came forward with another video of him harassing some college kids messing around with a RC car.

I've been skateboarding for 8 years. Broken 70+ boards (seriously), been kicked out of hundred different spots, had the cops called on me dozens of times, etc... etc... etc...

Let me clear things up. Skateboarding is nowhere near as dangerous as everybody seems to believe. Compared to contact sports (football, soccer) skateboarding is much, much safer. I remember seeing some data that showed that even volleyball results in more hospital visits per-participant than skateboarding. Just because it looks strange and dangerous doesn't mean it is. There are plenty of bruises and scrapes, but few serious injuries. "Busting our heads open" is what everybody seems to fear, but head injuries are incredibly rare due to the nature of skateboarding. In my 8 years I have never seen anybody seriously hit their heads.

Secondly, skateboarders don't sue. We are well aware of the risks and I have never, ever heard of an instance of a skateboarder suing anybody over injuries incurred from skateboarding. Hell, I even googled it to see if there had been any lawsuits. None. At all. The whole "liability" argument is bullshit, plain and simple. I think virtually every state has laws that protect business owners from lawsuits due to unauthorized use of the premises.

So, in future discussions of skateboarding-related topics, keep those things in mind. I'm tired of all this misinformation flying around.

I plan to continue skateboarding until my body can't handle it or I stop having fun, neither of which is likely in the near future. "Too old to skateboard" would only apply if I gave a fuck what anybody else thinks. I am well aware that skateboarding stopped being cool sophomore year of highschool. It's not a statement, it's a hobby.

As for the video, kid took the risk and got the short end of the stick. Security guards on power-trips are not uncommon. They suck, but it's not the end of the world. A 5 minute lecture and you're on your way most of the time. The cop was definitely a douchebag, but there was certainly more provocation than was shown in the video. Not that I necessarily would have done anything different if I was that kid, but I would have anticipated that outcome.

oh and so my post isnt completely useless and irrelevant:

It's winners like this that give 'skaters' a 'bad rep'.
