just thought I'd let all you r3v members who haven't had the opportunity to wash dishes for a living what a fucking shithole of of job it is. More like, washing dishes sucks a fat hairy dick. I contemplated giving managment the finger and walking out but decided that wasnt in my best interest so then i just wanted to blow the god damn dish washer up, preferably with dynamite. on busy nights i run out of hot water so butter and sauces dont melt when you spray them or in the washer so then it just turns into a clusterfuck of dishes, pans and glasses everywhere. while everyone stands around and watches or goes up front to the bar and gets smashed. anyone else wash dishes? do you like it? i cant wait to go back tomorrow and do it all over again.
any dishwashers out there?

I used to have this job. Of course, the restaurant only had like twenty tables, but it was busy sometimes. I actually liked it. I was good at staying on top of everything and I didn't have to deal with customers or anything all night long. Not that I care, of course.

Did it for about about 2 months. Waitresses would come and ask for whatever they needed and the other guys would jump to get whatever they needed. Especially this one girl who thought she was the hottest one in the place, shes the type that only looks that way cause it took her about 4 hours to get ready. I was the one guy who didn't give a fuck about what they needed and did what I needed to do first. After a few shifts they realized that if I am upset they aren't getting what they needed and they are the ones that are going to get yelled at by customers.
Other than that and my hands getting all screwed up I liked it, I like labor and it wasn't hard. I also didn't have to deal with anyone which was the best. Most shifts I would do prep cooking anyways cause almost everyone else was a moron. Or I will take an hour to take out trash.sigpicComment

the radio in the dish pit is broken and i cant hear the radio that faces the line because they turn it down during service. On sundays and mondays i dont minde because we do 1/20th of the tables on saturday. I like everyone i work with but they could care less about my job. Fortunately every night the chef cooks for everyone so i dont have to worry about eating a good meal.can you wear headphones/bring a radio? i washed dishes 6 nights a week at an applebees for a few months and once i brought a radio it wasn't so bad. you play the music you like, no one really talks to you or bothers you... and you get to look at hot waitresses also: if you work fast and laugh at their jokes: the cooks make you free foodGreg
