Every day I wake up we drink a lot of coffee and watch the CNN
Every day I wake up to a bowl of clover honey and let the locusts fly in.
Lobsterbacks attack the town again
Wrap all my things in aluminum
Beams of darkness streak across the sky
Pink rays from the ancient satellite
Every time I look out my window same three dogs looking back at me.
Every time I open my windows cranes fly in to terrorize me. -
what the fuck are you trying to say? it cant be done? I'm a 23 year old sous chef who did the whole cooking school thing (seriously bennetonnnn, don't waste your time)

I washed dishes for a while at a groaty Mexican restaurant...I'll just say I'm glad I won't have to do something like that for the rest of my life. I didn't really like leaving for the night smelling like shit and having spots of bright orange grease all over my arms/clothes.Comment

I washed dishes at a Pizzeria Uno for a year or so, came in during the mornings and washed all the prep and lunch service dishes, then got outta there. It was pretty easy because I managed to keep up with everything... then I started cooking and realized how shitty it is to be a dishwasher. Get through the bullshit and once you start cooking it won't be too bad.

we dont serve lunch so when i get there its just a ton of prep stuff and then all the dishes from service and all the saute pans. I work at a pretty high end resturaunt at each person goes through at least 6 different plates. I do prep work too until i move to pantry and that just helps to add to the backlog of dishes.I washed dishes at a Pizzeria Uno for a year or so, came in during the mornings and washed all the prep and lunch service dishes, then got outta there. Having a lousy job is the best incentive to get better education for a better job. Keep on washing dishes, but go back to school at the same time. It might three tough years but the diploma you will get will be worth the effort for the next 40 years of your working life.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

That sounds like fun. I have considered doing that on and off but the only decent schools out here would require me to quit my awesome job and I just can't.Im actually getting the prereqs by working in a kitchen to attend the culinary institute of america in greystone this august.
For what it's worth though, I washed dishes and cut up meat for a while at a grocery store. The dish washing part did in fact suck a fat hairy dick but at least it paid! Meat cutting on the other hand was awesome and I'd go back in a second if something happened to my current job. If you guys have never had the pleasure of slicing up a 25lb chunk of Bison, I say give it a try!'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5Comment

I wash dishes at a super busy seafood restaurant. It's just something to pay for food and gas while I go to school and amount even more bills. A friend of mine worked there first and cooks on line now and me and another friend of mine started working dish the same night. The way my restaurant schedules dishwashers is pretty silly, weekdays one dishwasher comes in at 6 and deals with all of the prep, lunch, and dinner mess in only a few hours. On weekends someone comes in at 5 and deals with prep and lunch and then takes care of cleaning our back line then at 7 another dishwasher comes in and takes care of the dinner rush and closing out the dish area. It is a total shithole of a job but I find solace in knowing that in 3 years I will be out on the job market with real prospects while the 40 year old douchebags who try and boss me around are still frying hush puppies and slopping around nasty tartar sauce.Comment

I have washed my share of dishes through high-school and into college. To put it simply, I am laying people off monthly. He should be happy I haven't showed up in his kitchen yet. Figuratively speaking of course.Yours truly,
Rich
