I work at at ATT and the iphone kills any phone that we sell, and any other phone that even comes close. I sell 8 to 10 phones a day and the iphone is probably 3 to 4 of them. People are willing to spend the extra dough. It can do everything and anything you want, only if, you know how to use it. So all of that hate it probably got sprexel or t-mobile with slow and shitty ass service.

I can one hand type all day long on it - pilot errors are common factors for haters.

      Go-Phones are cool too :)

Sadly, in the deep woods where I live, Verizon is the only reliable carrier.

It was until a month ago when the GM's iphone got hacked that IT decided to invest in a new BES server. It may not be as cool as some of the other things but RIM's enterprise solutions are really untouchable from a security standpoint.
99% of Active sync related security issues involve lack of SSL, trusted certs, improper security patch management and simply incompetent admins.

Not only do we enforce complex passwords, but with remote device wipe and other technologies, we don't really have anything to worry about

BES is a great solution if you want to turn it on and walk away (while installing a service pack or so), but IIS can be as secure as BES if properly setup. Also keep in mind that every email that is sent/received is sent through the RIM data center, which is okay for most, however many of our clients (including some BES users) disallow us from sending out confidential emails through a 3rd party, even if its seamless.

          Business reasons for everything!

That said, Exchange 2007 rocks at the moment for email.

if the only person you talk to is in this list then yes:
              1. Mother
              2. Grandmother
              3. Telemarketer
              4. Other person you dont want to talk to

it's great for that, because it drops all my calls, and rarely rings, most people just get my voicemail.

i'm on iphone #4, sim card #3. it still drops a good portion of my phone calls (20-30%)

best toy ever, i call mine an iTouch + GPS & Internet

I am a huge fan of the Blackberry Bold and the new Palm Pre. The Palm pre is going to be by far one of the nest phones released this year. Of course with the Blackberry it is undeniably one of the best business phones out. I am not a huge fan of full touch screen, although i do love Apple, Own three macs.

My main complaint is no voice dialing through my Plantronics 510. I miss that and use my Curve much of the time when I just can't look at the device.

James, is it true Apple won't release the data needed for third party bluetooth to voice dial through a button click like on the blackberry?

I also heard Apple will be offering a BT headset that will (which pisses me off if true as I have a slew of 510s and love them)

Currently voice dialing is not supported (why is beyond me), a few people are working on a fix via jailbrake though.

Not sure about the Apple BT headset, it should all use the same BT stack that would not really put one headset above another in terms of features.

That is why I thought it made no sense.

I really hope they come up with the solution soon, it is the one thing I really dislike about the phone.

                        Thanks.

I have hands free in all my cars, so it has not bothered me yet, as I can just tap on my recent calls and hit send.. not really a big deal for me

After you jailbreak the iPhone, it's amazing how many tools you can get.
There is no 2G band. The 2G and 3G references are referring to the generation of the device. the 2G, however, doesnt support 3G the network.

I decided to keep the nearly free BlackJack 2... I will get an iPhone next time around. I really would love to have one... my aunt actually has the older one sitting in her drawer so I suppose I could swipe that mofo for a while... the email on the blackjack is smooth, the the internet is not the greatest, which is not all that important anyway...

Wish I could have email without the $30 additional data plan.

In the Acura it runs through my Kenwood NAV, no problem there but in the Landcruiser there is no handsfree.

In all situations because I am used to the Blackberry I go for the button on the headset before I realize it's not gonna happen. Just a mild irritation.

                                I love the phone.
