      Sounds like the servers you're calling into aren't running the Workstation service. It's the counterpart to Server. Net start it up and try your UNC mappings again. Turn it back off again when you're done. You don't need the overhead.

        My first suggestion would be to label the servers. I had a boss that didn't like to label anything and wouldn't let me label anything, cause it was a "waste of time". I would remind him that it's not after spending 20 minutes to find out what cable led to what computer...

        That doesn't really help your problem. I'd try temporarily disabling your firewall and see if that fixes it. If not, reboot. :-P
