It's not exactly like Obama has "rallied the forces". The country is still near 50% split. Unfortunately the smaller of that half see that Obama is all words (which is true). Even as a Senator, he did nothing.
Take a look at what he's alread doing...exactly as Bush was. He's agreed with bush for months.

I would question the decision to attend celebrity-filled balls, and the youth ball, etc. over attending the ball dedicated to those who have given more than anyone could ever have asked for to the country he is now in charge of. From what I have seen I think it's shallow, and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the sacrifices some Americans make for the sake of the country. I'm sure I do not know the whole story, however, and I wish it would me made clear.

That's a small issue, why would you be upset over such a small issue such as this?!" and if the issues were limited to single events then they would be right. However, when placed together they begin to demonstrate what is truly important to him and where his priorities lie. It is this cumulative effect that has conservatives slightly concerned over his vision for America.

Lastly, do not think that because I voted for someone other than Obama that I entirely agree with the course former president Bush had laid out. It is possible to find fault and disagree with what both Presidents have and have promised to do. Liberals, of all people, should understand this as they see themselves as the check to status quo and distrust big government, which is again not a bad thing. However, becuase much of what obama has said in the past concerns me does not mean I completely agree with the way former President Bush used the White House.

Bush was in office 8 years-and did many questionable things from a Constitutional standpoint, and never once apologized for his mistakes. That begs for scrutiny.

Obama has been in office, what, less than a week? So far, I like the things he is doing. Do I think he's golden? No-he's human and will inevitably make mistakes. How he handles those mistakes, i.e. his accountability, will show what kind of man he is.

I thought is was. A logistical matter-with more people in DC than ever for an inauguration, you can bet security resources were stretched already. The Prez can't just say "I'm going over to this other ball-let's go". And only time will tell if he, rather than honoring the Vets with parades and plaudits and yet more lip service-all of which LOOKS good and gives you warm, mushy feelings inside, but really does nothing for the Vets, will step up and do the right thing-which is to make the remainder of their lives a living testament to how America should take care of their own.

So. You can believe Hannity and the like, or you can believe someone actually in the military.

President Obama did not "snub" the troops on election night. Quite the opposite. He spent just as much time during ONE ball with the troops than all the other balls PUT TOGETHER!! And that doesn't include the time that Vice President Biden spent there.

Have you guys forgotten that Bush fucked the Vets hard? Far worse than not showing up at a fancy dress ball on the busiest night in DC! Bush made life awfully hard for those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan by changing many rules and making it harder to get the benefits and treatments they deserve. He paid lip-service to the Vets, but when you look at his record of how Vets were treated under his watch, it is shameful.

I can handle mistakes, but I demand accountability. Bush exhibited none. We will see how Obama fairs....
