I think the average American citizen has no idea where their tax dollars are spent. That's why they complain about paying.

I have no problem paying taxes. It's when the dirtbags spend it on stupid bullshit that I have a problem.

I really like seeing my tax dollars at work, paving and improving roads. That makes me happy.

It would be different if the money went to schools or roads. I live in a small town with piece of shit roads, the schools don't have enough books, classes are over crowed (2 villages share the school), and it's falling apart. Mean while the super intendant got 500k parting bonus and both villages police departments have all brand new chargers.



We have a highway by us that has been under construction for 3 goddamn years. They're only working on about a 50 foot stretch it shouldn't take 3 years. A mile in either direction is filled with potholes and is marked as 55/work zone so oinkers can hide and pull you over and get double fine for construction zone. I could understand if they were ever working on it, but I travel that road everyday to work and have seen people working there maybe 4 times.

DING DING DING DING we have a winner. I payed more in taxes this year than I made 3 years ago, and I still had a good job then. I dont like the fact that the govt takes 33% of my money and throws it down the pisser.

Most people on here (I know some do) have no idea how much they pay in taxes every day, not including what comes out of your pay checks.

i don't mind paying my fair share either, but it goes into a black hole and for the most part is wasted.
blunt would like to know probably that part of his fortune goes to pay for a museum in bremerton that dicks, our local congressman, secured funding for. where is the logic that someone in god's country should have part of his taxes pay for something in bremerton. and why is the federal government in the local museum business anyways? it's this kind of shit that started the war for independence.

nah the one I'm referring to if route 17 south NY. It changes from 87 to 17 in Central Valley I've driven up about 60 miles to Mountaindale and the highway is a piece of crap the whole way, every 10 mils it's a construction zone with no construction workers just potholes. Our roads are shit, our schools are worse, we have a tiny library, a park that got redone about 15 years ago and hasn't been since, yet out police drive brand new chargers so they can fight the war on drugs against 17 year olds with a couple grams of weed. Seriously the only crime in our area is a speeder here and there and kids with pot yet theres a minimum of 12 chargers. Holy misplaced funds batman.



Edit: I forgot about the new squad of ATV's they have. They bought them to catch kids on dirtbikes and quads. That cut through tracks behind the highschool. We all ride race built 250f's and 450r's their polaris 4x4's aren't catching us, and anyway a goddamn fence would suffice.

I techincally am a private contractor, and I always have to pay my taxes at the end of the year. I don't make very much money (only about $20-25k a year) and I work from my house so I can write off my mortgage, utilities, cable, computer etc. as business expenses. It still sucks when the CPA tells you that you have to pay $3-6k all at once. It has taught me to set aside about 30% of my income to go towards uncle Sam.

But I've been seriously considering not paying my taxes this year. I highly doubt they will even notice some college kid missing a year.
