I'm good friends with one of the original directors of Star Trek and he even says it;s a money making tribute. New visuals, same old stuff.
Thats really interesting considering this movie is quite OBVIOUSLY not the same old Star Trek formula. Who's you friend? Is he involved in the making of this film in any way?
I'm no Treckie...in fact I can honestly say that I've never even seen an episode so I wouldn't know the difference between old and new.
Ralph Senensky. He's a great guy. And I have no idea if he is involved in this. Maybe I'll ask.
Yeah from the looks of the trailer, they are doing what they did with Batman Begins where they give the main guy some sort of epic back story. Before this Star Trek was just a new lame ass "mission" every episode/movie. It also does look very different visually like you said.
