Good choice on that gun its the best one I have ever used and I have all the IR TI series I have the 2130 and the ratchet as well.
run that gun at about 115-120psi and any decent compressor thats bigger than a pancake compressor will run that thing fine I run mine at 135psi and know guys that run them on shop air thats set at 150psi. You run it at the rated 90psi and you will be WTF this thing sucks, run the pressure up a bit and you will snap nearly anything off that it wont break loss.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

Thanks.
Every day I wake up we drink a lot of coffee and watch the CNN
Every day I wake up to a bowl of clover honey and let the locusts fly in.
Lobsterbacks attack the town again
Wrap all my things in aluminum
Beams of darkness streak across the sky
Pink rays from the ancient satellite
Every time I look out my window same three dogs looking back at me.
Every time I open my windows cranes fly in to terrorize me.

I did not expect a cordless gun to do the crank, but I tried.
It is a beast 19v LI electric.

Parker how long do the batts hold a charge??/ Have been considering one to keep in the truck/e30 tool bag that I take with me everywhere and much of the time would have limited charging availability
I assume you meant "4hp 150lb unit" how big a tank is on it, but that ought to push it fine.

The IR impact guns are the shit. I used to have the one that was dubbed the "Thunder Gun"
Wish I still had that beast.
thunder gun is big and heavy and hard to get into some of the tight places and has much less power than the TI series 2135TI there is no other gun to buy, mine has been run hard since day one and there is nothing it has not "gotten loose" sometimes cussing is involved as it broke it off but god it makes life easy.Last edited by mrsleeve; 02-06-2009, 09:35 PM.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

those 2 will run it but it will be at a bit less than what that gun really needs it needs a bit more CFM at high PSI to get the best out put of it. Your gun of choice really likes about CFM at 90psi, it will live on less but still up the PSI a ways. Of those 2 I would get the CH. here is a cheapo thats more suited to good air tools I hate harbor freight but hey if its for occasional use what the hell
How much are you looking to spend on a compressor because you can get a compressor that is slightly bigger than those and will last much longer. Also get one that oil lubed the oil less are just noisy as hell. But if you are really looking for a good compressor you need to spend at least 300 on a oil less 110v.
this is the one I would get if you are willing to spend some coin and get the best you can get in the size you want. It will push anything you could ever use, a DA sander, air grinder/buffer, air drill you may have to stop to let it catch up due to the small tank but it should keep up with all but the largest examples of those.
for reference this is what I am running currently the horizontal version of this one that has 35gal tank. I Could not afford the above Quincy when I bought this one and I need a bit more tank.
and once I get into a place where I have a good sized shop thats mine (I am renting right now) this is whats going in. Nothing beats a Quincy

Thanks for the input. I will rarely use the compressor. This entire thing is because I can't break the crank bolt on the Acura to put on an underdrive pulley and I prefer to do my own work.
I figured for the price of a cheap compressor and good gun it made sense not to pay for the work and I can fill bike tires, car/truck tires, the tires on my pressure washer etc without having to drag the 20 pound air can I have to the gas station.
I hate HF everything I have ever bought from them has sucked including the solar panel I got when the Land Cruiser was sitting and draining the battery that MELTED IN THE SUN!
Both of the ones I linked are oiled I am inherently afraid of the ebay one it has about a 50/50 mix of good & bad feedback. I will go with the CH unless I find something better on Craig's List.
Thanks

smaller the compressor, the longer its going to run. Its works but not as well as a large capacity compressor.
I used to have a 15 gallon that would run constantly with any air tool. Now i have a 40 or 50g compressor that STILL runs nearly the entire time im using air tools. Proper size would be 80g or so.

Here is what I landed on:
Buy Ingersoll Rand P1IU-A9 Direct. Free Shipping. Check the Ingersoll Rand 2-HP 4-Gallon Contractor Twin Stack Air Compressor ratings before checking out.
4.4 @ 90lb
Ordered last night called today to see what the processing time is they said it ships from IR, had been on backorder for two months and is expected to ship in 14-21 days :(
Found a local IR center going to pick it up for the same price plus tax.
