Was shopping for something else at Target and saw that Michael Crichton has written a novel about Pirates. Pirate Lattitude. Started it last night and after 30 minutes and a couple chapters I was forced to stop... was going to read 1 chapter and go to bed. It is good so far.

Apparently an assistant found it on his computer and Spielberg has signed on for a movie.

I used to dig Crichton back in HS, I may check that one out.

Currently I'm reading Anthony Bourdain's 'Kitchen Confidential'. Fanastic book.

Next up is Jeremey Clarkson's 'The World According to Clarkson', looking forward to this one

I just finished "The Lost City of Z" and I recommend it to everyone.

It's about the real life story of an explorer who went missing in the Amazon looking for El Dorado.

I just finished reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" - by Stieg Larsson. I just got the DVD and will be watching it this weekend.

Just started reading "Client" by John Grisham. Old book but a good read while riding the subway to work.

Halfway through Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. So far, it's the best read out of the three (Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code).

Excellent read! I read that back in high school and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of my favorites thus far have been Cradle to Cradle and The Elegant Universe. If you are at all interested in physics I would recommend The Elegant Universe, it is heavy reading but should be comprehensible to anyone with at least a high school level knowledge of physics. I'm looking to pick up a new book but I'm not sure what topic I'm after yet. However, reading through this thread is definitely giving me ideas. Thanks everyone!

Next "The Purple Land" Hudson it's mentioned in the above book and my library has a copy, why not.

I am about 4 books into the dune series(by Frank Herbert, his son, and Kevin J. Anderson). I started with the first one his son and Kevin wrote, and working my way to Frank"s original books. I believe there is 11 in the series.

had to pull out of the history book for a while it was all getting very starchy an blendign togeather.

Now about 1/2 though "The Survivors Club" by Ben Sherwood.

Interesting book on who lives and who dies in bad situations and why

currently reading Anathem by Neal Stephenson. I've also read his book Snow Crash. Awesome reads so far.

Daemon by Daniel Suarez is pretty good, too.
