    Drill Recommendations

The time has come for me to buy a drill. Looking for a corded drill, reliable, for 50 bucks or less. Recommendations?

Milwaukee or porter cable /thread spend a bit more if necessary dont buy cheap power tools, buy the time you replace it 2-3 times you could have bought 2 good ones.

Dewalt has been bought out by Black and decker and are POS even the pro line, they have a bunch more nylon and plastic in the drive lines compared to how they used to be. Mikita makes good stuff too just have no tried any thing made in the last 6-7 years Bosh makes good cordless just never tried any of their stuff with a cord other than my compound miter saw.

Mikita is nice. Costlier but you get what you pay for.

I just noticed that you said "corded".

Get whatever you can find, anything brand name will kick ass.

Flame me if you want, cordless Panasonic ftw. My dads company uses those, and they are bulletproof. I used to overheat the fuck out of those things and they still ran perfect. A little expensive though. Ryobi is good too.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yes, specifically looking for something with a cord. I always find it to be a pita to charge batteries all the time. Just want something that will always work for light duty around the house type stuff...maybe an occasional guitar build.

if they still ran perfectly, you obviously didn't overheat them enough :)

Sears will have plenty of corded Craftsman drills under 50, you might even check the converted Kmarts to see if they are cheaper. Don't know how the new ones are built but we have an old one that I don't even store inside, I just go find it in the garden or yard wherever I left it last and plug it in, heavy as hell though, none of that new plastic everything tool. So you can also check out swapmeets for an older one probably will cost you 15 bucks.

Idk how to define "enough". "Enough" to where I couldnt touch the motor housing for about 3 mins.
