CEOs cannot survive on the $40,000 a week cap! If the guys up top would tighten their belts they could help little people, but little people are generally lazy and stupid so the guys up top dont bother.
Everybody needs to look to themselves for the solution to this mess... our government reps are doing the best they can for the country (read mostly themselves!!!) but it just seems to not be working (read not the the public anyway)
Politics is always iky and everyone thinks their solution is the correct one. If they all admitted they don't know shit (which is the only truth that could come from DC) they could figure out what to do that would work!Comment

I just don't get it. What happened to letting companies fail?
My old man is about to lose his job because his company of about 20 employees is failing. Where's his bailout? Instead, his tax dollars are paying to help a bunch of union jerk offs and corporate execs keep theirs."We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."Comment

Oh come on, Gray Davis got a bad rap because of what Enron did to Cali.
I can't remember the last time I wasn't sick of Government.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

You beat me to it.
at least my state has issued a warning to the feds. MT along with 20 other confirmed states are declaring their sovereignty as afforded to each state by the 9th and 10th amendments! AZ, CA,GA,HI,MI,MO,MT,NH,OK,WA Bills that are on the state websites are listed and linked. Unconfirmed states that are in the process of putting similar bills before the legislatures include AL,AK,AR,CO,ID,IN,KS,NV,PA,TX
Neat huh

This is true. Granted, G. Davis was the guy at the helm when the house of cards known as Enron collapsed right after the deregulation of the utilities industry, so he got all the blame. Arnie has done more to harm the state in roughly the same amount of time. He has grown state government significantly....more government = more operating overhead. Unions, overtime pay, benefits to all those employees (the state of California employs over 200,000 currently). All those people and facilities cost money and the politicians took their revenue streams for granted when times were good. Now the ecomony is in the tank, bills are mounting cause less money is coming in and the idiots under the capitol dome (as I affectionately call them) were supposed to have the 2008/2009 fiscal year budget done on July 1, 2008. Its mid-February 2009 and they still haven't done this!!! They made this bed of theirs, now they need to sleep in it....serves them right. Keep in mind that I'M A CALIFORNIA STATE EMPLOYEE TOO - I work for the Dept. of Corrections and we are whipping child #1 for the looming layoffs so I'm in a real catch 22. On one hand I am sick & fed up with our states' government and their lack of effective leadership....yet at the same time, these folks cut me a paycheck every month and cover my medical and dental. Right now I'm not sure if I will still have my job by mid-summer. It's that bad right now.

does anyone here think the federal and your respective state governments are too small?“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”
