Anyone in SoCal that can restring an electric??

Instead of paying some stranger, Id like to see if I can get this done by a fellow r3v member. Anyone available who can restring a Gibson Les Paul Standard?? No half ass Mickey Mouse shit either. Thank you in advance!

It's not too hard man. I restring all 5 of my electrics on a monthly basis (les paul included) If I was out there I'd do it for free and show ya how.

Are you kidding? I'm surprised. If you can change your own oil, restringing a guitar should be a walk in the park.

Seriously, it takes maybe 10 minutes and it is as straightforward as it gets. Buy your choice of strings and go. If you're not planning on cleaning your guitar or doing anything to your frets or fretboard, I'd usually advise that you remove one string and replace it before moving to the next string so as to not change the loading as drastically on your neck, but some would argue that it's not worth bothering.

All that's left after that is tuning and snipping the ends off. I also generally recommend at least 1.5 wraps around your tuning machines per string.

If you were local I'd say bring it by and I'd do it for free. Honestly, you work hard for your money, so why give it away for something so easy?? Feel free to PM me if you'd like me to walk you through the process step by step.

i have a dozen guitars, and he doesn't even sell the strings i use. I usually buy strings by the assload.

fuck. I love floyds. Initial setup is a PITA.

Good tutorial. Floyds are great when setup properly. You can shim the saddles and everything (advanced). All of my floyds are setup differnet with different shim heights etc. Also, take the back cover plate off and make sure you have a screwdriver handy. Also -- one big tip, ALWAYS use the EXACT same strings. Period. Once you have setup your floyd with whatever strings you use (I use DR .10s) ALWAYS restring with the same string or you will have to reset the bridge/intonation/truss rod.

Trent - I know youd do it, but youre in San Diego and you always have a reason (excuse) not to come up here.

I restrung my Epiphone and it wasnt that hard, I just dont want to fuck itup on my Gibson.
