    New on my want list

Im debating buying one of these:

    2009 Husqvarna TE 310

Being a smaller brand, I haven't heard too much about the Husqvarna brand, or known anyone who owns one. Apparently they own the entire world on the enduro scene. Also, a few years back they were actually acquired by BMW, so they are owned by BMW now, but still operate out of Italy.

I only ask because their bikes are definately a little obscure and not too cheap. I dont want to get caught flat footed with a piece of shit. Does anyone have any opinions about them? I would be riding this as a dual sport, both getting my kicks offroad and riding it on the street occasionally. Not sure on the price, I cannot find a definative answer on the web. I do see one on ebay right now for $6995, after manuf. $1000 rebate.

    Stats for the tech nerds:

*edit* Apparently BMW also upped the Husqvarna warranties to 2 yr/24,000 miles as well, up from the 6mos Husqvarna used to offer.

I've never really heard alot about Husqvarna bikes let alone see a place that sells them. So if it breaks down what would you do? IMHO buy a recently used Honda 450 and convert it yourself. You'll save money and it will be 10x better

I found 10 dealers within about a 4 hour radius, including one dealer thats about 20 miles away. If it breaks, ill fix it. If it breaks bad, Ill take it to one of the dealers. Downtime sucks, but if im not dailying it, I really dont care.

Honestly if i were you I would do what bakese30 suggested and go find a 09 honda 450 with the Fuel Injection and dual sport it. Or if you want a nice duel sport bike find a ktm 450 exc

One of my friends has a dirt bike magazine and he had one of the huskys sent to him to test ride. It was a alright bike. Didn't feel too heavy or bulky but being use to the Honda and Yamaha 450, it was very weak power wise. Didnt have the nice power curve to be very aggressive. Not a very attractive bike performance or looks wise imho.

Ive known more than a few people with high output Husqie dirt bikes. They are definitely meaty and fucking really really robust. You better be an experienced rider otherwise these bikes will ride you.
Everyone I know that owns one uses it exclusively on a farm.

Small as in not too many dealers, and smaller presence in the US. Ive known they built bikes dating back into the 70's, you just ususally dont see people riding them.

                            x100

There are loads of options out there if a husky scares you, which it shouldn't

Dealer just quoted me $8300 for the 2009 TE310, and $8600 for the TE450.
