I was in France a few years ago...a longtime family friend who lives there took us to stay at his cabin in the Pyrenees and led us around southern France for a week, it was a lot of fun...loved France.

Brussels>Paris c'est la vérité! Oui effectivement on n'a pas les monuments ou la beauté de pan-am, mais c'est une ville beaucoup plus agréable.

on another note your trip reminds me of....

          Me too. Frightening.

Well, there's a next time for everything. Let me save up for 5 years or so before I can afford a ticket again, and then we will see, I may end up going to Brussels.

Also I may end up working in Europe, who knows? It's definitely something I'm exploring.

Flight update: the food in the airport is CHEAPER than in downtown Paris. I can check in soon, so fun times in duty-free are coming.

^^ yep, and I just got frisked at the security terminal because of that.

Actually, it was really weird. Heading up to the baggage checking terminals, there were little stands with "Securitas something something", and "United States, Israel" written on them with Israeli women. They took my info down, put a red sticker on my passport, and I got through the rest of the process more or less unmolested until the security guy basically cupped my family jewels and groped me, and a bomb detection guy checked out every pocket of my bag as well as my limbs with a special paper towel thing.

I think they're on to me...

                    FUCK THAT

I public transported from the Luxor on the strip all the way to LAX in one day. It might have only cost 70USD total, but man was it interesting (it sucked).

Did you ride a Greyhound? I'd have picked you up and transported for leftover hookers, blow, and 70 bucks for gas.

You all had my number. We greyhounded, and dropped off the hooker bodyparts on the barstow freeway.

I had to ditch the yayo before we got to LAX we had so much.

We went: Luxor via monorail to the Sahara, taxi to the Greyhound terminal, greyhound to Union Station, walk to airport bus, bus to airport, plane back to New Zealand. Luxor to NZ in 20 hours :D

That is an impressive feat. At one time I was on the greyhound twice a week to get to my woman. I met so many druggies and recent parolees.
