Oh I am familiar with 3g. I was using the EVDO network 3 years ago at my last job. Moto Q + tethering = win when you're out in the middle of a corn field. 4g may be "old" but the adoption rate in the US (where I live) is shit. EVDO is spotty here and HSDPA is essentially non-existent. I expect 4g rollouts to follow the same trend. Although the implications for a massive IPv6 roll-out associated with the roll-out of 4g networks is intriguing.

Google's app is great. Voice recognition searches. The app recognizes when you put the phone to your ear to talk, it listens to what you say, then when you pull the phone away from your ear it recognizes that and automatically searches and displays results. Handy while doing dangerous things like driving or stabbing bezerk hookers.

Shazam listens to a few seconds of just about any song and identifies it.

Trapster is good if other people in your area also use it and update police points.

'Units' is a quick, simple and free app for converting most units of measurement. Currency, lenght, weight, speed, etc.

Havent played with iTimeLapse yet, but can make, compile and edit time-lapse movies.

True HDR lets you take two different exposures (3GS only) and uses an s-curve to combine the best light and dark exposure areas. Works surprisingly well for a program.

Zillow used with GPS is great for checking out home prices, has links to interior pictures and other stuff too. Not updated as quickly as the website tho.

most of these apps are free. HDR is two bucks i think.

I love my iPhone, just wish it was faster. I'm an impatient person. Shazam has been a nice treat. I learned the presidents while sitting in the deer stand with it. Overall I just like how my contacts are set up. I have 236 contacts and another 120+ that need to be added as of now.
