so i made a big decision over the last couple of weeks

I've decided I'm going to get into shape and join the Marine Corps. This year has proved to be shitty already, and I need a drastic change of scenery. I'm also tired of being unemployed and sitting on my ass. I need to lose 110lbs or so and get a GED. I'm fucking determined to get the fuck out of here and do something with myself.

Just remember, more sweat in peacetime means less bloodshed during war.

And, I thought you already were in. The sticker threw me.

I wanted to see exotic Vietnam... the crown jewel of Southeast Asia. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!

Man up and don't become a "Hollywood Marine." Be a real man and go to Paris Island (at least).

Wanna loose 100lbs? No problem. Enlist. Go to Irak. Loose your two legs on a land mine. Simple. Then ask your president for new legs. It worked.

Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Oh believe me I know. I don't want to get sent to the Donut Brigage. My uncle is a recruiter, or at least was until he went to OCS, so he's telling me what I need to do before I sign up. As is I wouldnt make it through MEPS anyway. I've got a plan for the next year, I should be good to go this time next year or sooner.

Remember what I told you about what happened to my friend last month? He was a Marine.

I live west of the Mississippi, and they only allow males to go to Paris Island by special request, which is usually denied. Besides, Paris Island is all hump-waivers and swamp dogs. ;)

Come on buddy. Don't go to the army just because you are bored. Wrong choice. isn't there anybody on this forum who has a company and can offer you a job? That's how you find works these days. Thru social networks.

It looks like you are depressed and about to make the wrong move, for the wrong reason.

What's your field of work? Any specialty?

On paper all I'm good for is manual labor. However I've been a computer geek for about 15 years.

I'm not really depressed so much as I need a change of scenery. I've lived in this area my entire life. I've also wanted to be a Marine since I was about 5 years old.

I feel a great sense of pride knowing that I will be defening my family, friends, and country. It's time to be productive.
