Meh. It is a dick move if your buddy hooked you up on the price. I had a guy do that once. I bought something out from under him after I told the seller what transgressed...seller decided it was dick move and sold it to me instead.
Now if you bought from a third party, and turned around and sold them to a fourth party and the second party is butt hurt...they need to learn that it is ok to make the monies that way.1990 Mazda Miata

I gave my buddy the extra that i had made off them, so i kinda feel better about this whole thing now and he seems pleased too.sigpicComment

Would I do that to a friend?
Hell no.
Would I be OK charging a friend for services rendered? Yes, as that is my living.
Rough ground morally, but do what you feel is right.

Sorry dude, i didn't. I may be a jackass, but i'm not that bad. I didn't intentionally buy the wheels with the mind set of screwing over a friend. Plus i gave him the difference that i made on them...So in the end i made my money back and he made more then what he was asking in the first place.
Enough said.sigpicComment

Fwiw, you'd have been better off not getting involved.
In my case, I was the original seller. I had a set of steelies with snows on them for a car I no longer owned. They "fit" my new car but were the wrong offset and would have eaten the tires up quicker than driving them in what little winter weather we actually get any more.
I sold them to my pal. He regularly treks up to New England for skiing, etc, and I was happy with the selling price.
'Come to find out he sold them and made a small profit. To his own father no less. Dad needed some snows for a trip he was taking and borrowing the wheels turned into buying them off his boy. I kidded him a little when I heard the news, but they weren't mine to dicker over. I was already out of the picture. That fact wouldn't have changed if I was Richie Rich who wouldn't notice or Wimpy looking for a burger today to pay for on Tuesday. It was none of my business.
My friend wasn't trying to flip my wheels for profit; it just turned out that way. I didn't bitch and he didn't feel guilty because we both knew who owned what and when. Even if he had offered to share the profit, I would have passed. I've got my career and some comfortable savings and investments. He's in the middle of college and living at home still. The time we've spent wrenching, bs'ing in the paddock, trading feedback on tire pressures and lines/gears through turns, hanging out late at drive-in gtgs... our friendship is worth a lot more than a few bucks for some wheels.- Sco
