I currently have an old phone with a very old AT&T plan. I called today to upgrade my plan and they said they couldn't, their current plans don't work with my old phone.
So I go to upgrade/order the refurb iphone 3g 8GB for $100 from AT&T, and I realized if I select the new plan and order the phone, how will my current phone work until I get the new one? It said some shared features change instantly, does this include my actual voice plan? The plan required for the iphone is not compatible with the plan required for my old phone, so when will it "switch over"?
This wouldn't be a big deal if I could go back to my old plan, or if I had a second phone, but I don't.
So how does this work? Will it only upgrade to the new plan when I activate me new phone? Will the old one then be unusable? The lady at AT&T told me I could use my old phone until I activate the new one, but I don't want to find out the hard way that she might be wrong. I need a phone at all times for school/work/etc...
